4’ 2” x 7’    Early 1900s hand-woven Persian Kashan area rug in a floral pattern in a rare and highly desirable ivory color background.   The classical design and luminous, resilient wool quality of this outstanding vintage Persian Kashan carpet create an impression of consummate refinement. This Kashan rug has a very rare and desirable ivory color field with a major accent color of French blue, pink, and red throughout the field and border.  A small central medallion is in navy blue and red with flora design in navy blue, baby blue, and cream colors.  The border is navy blue.  Standing back and looking at the rug’s design and the color scheme makes this a magnificent piece for the floor or a wall display.

Date of Manufacture:  1st Quarter of the 1900s
Place of Origin:  NW Persia
Material:  Wool pile on a cotton foundation with organic dyes
Condition:  Wear consistent with age and use
