4’ 5” x 6’ 3”    Gorgeously designed with a wonderful color palette Persian Kerman Lavar area rug in a large format floral pattern from the late 1800s. The main field is in an ivory color with a central medallion in navy or midnight blue with the corner spandrels in pale burgundy. The rug has accent colors in burgundy, navy, pale yellow, light blue, and cream. The major or primary border is in an ivory color with flower design throughout and the secondary or minor border in navy blue. There is a central medallion in navy or midnight blue color background with floral designs.

The village of Kerman is located at the edge of the great desert in SE Persia and was on the ancient Silk Road.  It is known for some of the most beautiful and colorful rugs that were woven in Persia. The weavers used the color and flower designs in rugs to bring some color and nature’s beauty to the dry desert environment that they lived in.
