The rich purplish tone of the background is beautifully adorned with floral renderings in subtle shades of soft sandy yellow, rustic light blue, pastel magenta, and navy blue. The rug is in the style of the famous 1600s rug known as William Clark's "Kerman Vase Carpet'' also referred to as the "Sickle-Leaf Vase" rug sold by Sotheby's for $33.8 million which is the record price for the most expensive rug ever sold.
