Description

This Vintage Persian Kurdish Kilim Rug is in an all-over paisley (boteh) pattern. Hand-woven in wool, this room-size flatweave features a beautifully nuanced abrash French blue field, where subtle tonal variations add depth, movement, and authenticity to the piece.

The field is filled with rows of finely rendered paisley motifs in ivory, red, and soft pink, with each row alternating direction to create a lively, rhythmic composition. This directional variation is a hallmark of traditional Kurdish design, giving the rug a sense of motion and artistic spontaneity while maintaining overall balance.

Framing the composition is a rust-red border decorated with complementary paisley forms in ivory and blue, providing a bold yet harmonious contrast to the cooler tones of the field.
