Description

Vintage Persian Malayer gallery rug. Hand-knotted in the early to mid-20th century.  This beautiful rug features an exceptional all-over geometric pattern set against a luminous ivory color background. The design is intricately composed of three prominent columns of larger, connected medallions, beautifully flanked by two columns of smaller medallions. This rhythmic arrangement creates a visually dynamic and sophisticated tapestry across the entire field.

The primary color within the field's geometric motifs is a crisp white, while the medallions themselves burst with a rich palette of classic red, earthy brown, and verdant green. The natural tones of camelhair are subtly woven throughout, adding a layer of organic warmth and authenticity to the overall design.  The rug is elegantly framed by a beautiful primary border, also in a clean white, adorned with intricate geometric designs in complementary shades of green, luminous yellow, serene blue, and warm brown.
