Description

An elegant and highly collectible example of early 20th-century village weaving, this Vintage Persian Malayer Runner showcases the enduring beauty of the classic Herati motif in a rare and luminous ivory field. Woven in the historic weaving region of Malayer, this runner reflects the refined craftsmanship and sophisticated color sensibility for which Malayer carpets are admired.

The allover Herati pattern—one of the most celebrated designs in Persian rug tradition—creates a rhythmic lattice of geometric floral forms across the ivory ground. Accents of French blue, brown, rust red, pink, and soft yellow animate the surface with depth and movement. The rare ivory background lends brightness and architectural clarity, making this piece especially versatile within both traditional and contemporary interiors.

A narrow border in a striking French blue frames the composition, adorned with delicate geometric elements in yellow, pink, and blue. This refined border enhances the runner’s linear elegance while maintaining balance and cohesion throughout the design.

Hand-knotted in wool during the first quarter of the 20th century, the runner embodies both durability and artistic refinement.
