Description

This charming vintage Persian Malayer area rug, handwoven in the early 20th century (circa 1900–1925), features a rare and desirable “near square” format—ideal for intimate spaces or layered interiors. The rug showcases an elegant allover Herati pattern woven into a richly abrash navy blue field, imbuing the piece with depth and movement.

Scattered throughout the design are small geometric medallions rendered in sophisticated shades of green, ivory, and French blue, offering delightful visual accents. The corner spandrels, in distinctive slate green and blue tones, further elevate the rug’s unique character.

One of the most notable features of this piece is its exceptional border design. Set against an ivory background, the border is intricately decorated with delicate motifs in a harmonious palette of green, yellow, blue, pink, and red.
