Vintage Persian Malayer area rug in a “near square” size was woven in the first quarter of the 1900s has a beautiful allover Herati pattern set in an abrash navy blue background.  There are a number of small geometric medallions in wonderful shades of green, ivory and French blue throughout the field.  There are corner spandrels in the slate green/blue shades that add to the uniqueness of this small gem.  The Malayer rug has one of the most beautiful border designs set on an ivory color background with designs in green, yellow, blue, pink and red.
