Late 19th Century Vintage Moroccan Rabat Tribal Gallery Rug. Handwoven in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, this captivating carpet is distinguished by its very fine weave and sophisticated use of color, marking it as a prime example of its region's renowned craftsmanship.

This gallery/corridor-sized rug features a particularly desirable and rare soft red ground in its field, providing a warm and inviting backdrop for its intricate geometric patterns. The use of natural vegetable dyes has yielded a beautiful array of earth tone colors that permeate both the field and its multiple borders, creating a harmonious and organic aesthetic. The vibrant design accents include sunny yellow, serene turquoise, verdant green, creamy ivory, and rich brown, all working in concert to bring the patterns to life.

A hallmark of High Atlas weaving, the rug boasts multiple borders, each meticulously detailed with various geometric forms in turquoise, green, ivory, blue, and yellow, perfectly framing the central design and adding layers of visual interest.
