Welcome to The Persian Knot Gallery

Curated Collection of Authentic 19th and The Early 20th Century Fine Handwoven Rugs, Tapestries and Textiles From Around the World

This exquisitely hand knotted Persian Nain rug from the 4th quarter of the 1900s showcases the unmatched artistry of the legendary Habibian workshop, widely regarded as one of the finest in the city of Nain. Featuring an extremely fine weave, this room-size rug is a rare collector’s piece—made even more exceptional by the fact that it’s part of a matching pair (inventory #1223 and #1224), an almost unheard-of find in the world of antique rugs.

The rug is adorned with a graceful floral medallion design set in a soft pale peach field, framed by a delicate cream border. Subtle yet striking, the color palette includes pale blue, French blue, navy, caramel, and cream, beautifully arranged in floral motifs throughout the field and corner spandrels. The central medallion is especially captivating, with silk highlights that shimmer under light and give the design a stunning three-dimensional effect.

Woven with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, this rug is not only a visual masterpiece but also a testament to the exceptional knot density and traditional craftsmanship that define Habibian Nain rugs. For over three generations, the Habibian name has been synonymous with the highest standards of Persian weaving, beloved by collectors and connoisseurs around the globe.

A truly rare opportunity to own a matching pair of museum-worthy Persian rugs.
