Description

Discover the captivating artistry and rich history of this beautiful Late 19th Century Qashqai tribal area rug from South West Persia.  Qashqai rugs are celebrated for their distinctive tribal designs, vibrant colors, and robust, naturally dyed wool, reflecting the nomadic traditions of their weavers.

This exquisite rug features a striking triple medallion design rendered in luminous royal blue and creamy ivory colors, beautifully set against a deep dark navy background. The corners of the field are adorned with vibrant green and rich red spandrels, creating a harmonious and dynamic composition.

The entire design is elegantly framed by a bold navy blue primary border, complemented by delicate minor borders in ivory. This layering of borders adds depth and refinement, enhancing the rug's overall visual appeal.

A hallmark of this rug's authenticity and beauty is its use of all-natural vegetable dyes, which lend the colors a remarkable depth, luminosity, and a beautiful patina that only improves with age. The combination of its very unique design and natural dyes truly adds to the allure of this tribal weaving.
