A striking pair of hand-sewn pillows crafted from early 20th century Kurdish saddlebags. Each pillow features the original hand-knotted saddlebag face, displaying a bold 3 x 3 geometric star composition in rich tones of red, ivory, green, and purple.
The reverse side is formed from complementary antique flatwoven kilim panels in a warm cornmeal ground, accented with linear motifs in red, yellow, green, and blue. The juxtaposition of pile weaving and flatweave construction highlights the versatility and artistry of Kurdish tribal textile traditions.
These pillows preserve the integrity of the original weavings while thoughtfully repurposing them for contemporary interiors. Both decorative and collectible, they offer a rare opportunity to incorporate authentic early 20th century tribal textile fragments into refined, layered spaces.
