Description

This vintage Persian Shiraz area rug, hand-knotted circa mid-20th century in Western Persia, embodies the rich tribal traditions of the Shiraz and Lori weaving communities. Featuring the classic “Shiraz Signature” design, the composition is anchored by three stacked geometric medallions—an enduring tribal motif also seen in fine Qashqai weavings. The vibrant red field is framed by an ivory border with repeating geometric patterns, while accents in French blue, terracotta, and indigo add harmony and depth.

Symbolic tree motifs and small stylized animal figures are thoughtfully scattered throughout the field, celebrating themes of nature, protection, and tribal identity.
