Description
5’ x 10’ 19th Century Caucasian Shirvan kilim in turquoise, purple, blue, ivory. Since Kilims are tapestry type flatweaves (no pile), finding one that is over 125 years in such a great condition is extremely rare. The village weavers usually made these in two pieces because of the limitation of the size of their looms and then sewed them together. The combination of bright and beautiful colors in rows make this a breathtaking piece of art. This Caucasian Kilim is a “free form” design and is an example of the wonderful artistic creation by the village weavers.
