Curated Collection of Authentic 19th and The Early 20th Century Fine Handwoven Rugs, Tapestries and Textiles From Around the World

$5,900.00

A rare and collectible 19th century Caucasian Cloudband Kazak rug, also known as a Chondsoresk, hand-woven in the late 1800s in the village of Chondoresh in the Karabagh region of the Caucasus Mountains. This tribal rug features three striking Cloudband medallions in varying tones of abrash green, ivory, and blue, each richly saturated with natural dyes.

Set against a vivid tomato red field, the composition includes bold geometric motifs in ivory, red, and blue—symbols deeply rooted in the tribal weaving traditions of the Caucasus. The outer border, woven in ivory, frames the rug with refined detailing and graphic precision. Though it bears age-related wear consistent with its age, the rug maintains its vibrant presence and historic character, making it a coveted piece for collectors and designers alike.

Perfect as a statement piece in traditional, eclectic, or rustic modern interiors, this Kazak rug embodies the enduring beauty and cultural heritage of Caucasian textile art.
