Antique Persian Farahan gallery rug handwoven in Northwest Persia in the late 19th century features a striking central medallion flanked by two smaller medallions in terracotta red, beautifully set against a rich navy blue field.
The composition is framed by a geometric border on a navy ground, harmoniously integrating the field and border design. A vibrant yet balanced palette of green, blue, yellow, and red accents adds depth and visual interest, enhancing the rug’s timeless appeal.
Woven with natural vegetable dyes, the rug displays a remarkable abrash—subtle variations in tone across the field and border. This natural patina, developed over more than 150 years, gives the rug a warm, dynamic character.
