Description
8’ 2” x 10’ 9” A very beautiful and rare Persian Heriz Serapi from the late 19th century. The rug has several distinguishing features that make it very rare and desirable. The features include, one being in an “allover” pattern in a “Tree of Life” design. Also, having a blue background makes this very unique. Over 99% of Heriz rugs have a red background and a central medallion. The rug has a very fine wool and organic vegetable dyes bring out brilliant colors including abrash pale blue, pink, green, and yellow which makes this rug a treasure to be cherished and enjoyed for generations. The border is in rust red designs in blue, pink, and yellow. A true masterpiece of village weaving is represented in this rare gallery/corridor size Heriz Serapi rug from the last quarter of the 1800s.
