Description
4’ 1” x 6’ 2” Vintage hand knotted Persian Nain area rug from the 3rd quarter of the 1900s with a very fine weave with silk highlights in the field and border. This Nain rug has a beautiful floral design set in a rich dark navy blue field color with a beige or camel color border. The design colors in the field include navy blue, baby blue, ivory, brown, and caramel. The corner spandrels are in camel and ivory colors. The rug has a wool pile with a cotton foundation and silk highlights. The vibrancy of the silk is unbelievable and it shines beautifully and stands out under light. It definitely gives that three-dimensionality to the design. The central medallion is in blue, gray, brown and ivory colors.
