Description

A Late 19th Century Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Room Size Rug. A truly rare and highly desirable "near square" piece, this carpet from the late 1800s is a testament to the masterful craftsmanship and artistic tradition of Persian village weavers.

This beautiful and colorful rug is a special example of its kind, featuring a highly sought-after pale yellow/ivory field color, which is exceptionally rare in Heriz Serapi weaving. The uncluttered open field design allows the intricate patterns and brilliant colors to truly shine, adding to the majesty of the piece.

At the heart of the rug, a wonderful green central medallion and matching corner spandrels create a captivating focal point. This striking combination of the luminous pale yellow/ivory field with the vibrant green medallion and spandrels adds to the unique beauty of the rug. The design is further enriched by beautiful natural colors woven throughout the field and corners, including delicate pink and serene blue.

The entire composition is expertly framed by a deep dark blue color border, which provides a strong and elegant enclosure for this beautiful carpet. The use of fine wool and natural dyes has created a rich, nuanced palette that remains as vibrant today as it was over a century ago.

This antique Heriz Serapi rug is more than just a floor covering; it is a treasure to be cherished and enjoyed for generations.
