Description
5’ 6” x 9’ A beautiful Caucasian Sevan Kazak from the early 1900s. This Kazak is unusually large with the “Sevan” pattern set in a dark red color field. The large medallion design is in purple, dark red, and ivory colors with geometric design elements in blue, yellow and green colors. The border is in ivory background with designs in blue, red, yellow, and green. The use of vegetable dyes and the gradual change in tones (abrash) is beautifully demonstrated in this rug where one can see three different shades of the same color.
