Description

This exceptional silk flatwoven Soumak rug originates from the Shahsavan tribes of Northwest Persia and reflects the refined artistry of late 19th to early 20th-century tribal weaving. The design is centered around three striking geometric medallions set in a warm cream field and enriched with tones of rust, soft green, and rose. Fine silk needlepoint bird motifs are skillfully interwoven throughout, offering symbolic and artistic depth that celebrates nomadic heritage.
